The First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange is one of the sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It is known as the strictest market to be listed on, largely consisting of iconic companies in Japan. For example, the expected market capital for applicants at the time of evaluation should be more than 25 billion yen. Those who listed are called “Ichibu Jojo Kigyo” and there are currently about 2,100 as of the end of January 2019.
