Tsuunen saiyou: Year-round recruitment

When companies continue recruitment activities throughout the year, it is called tsuunen saiyou or year-round recruitment. When recruiting new graduates, companies usually hire all the newcomers to start at the same time in April. However, an increasing number of corporations now have continued recruitment activities throughout the year to supplement labor shortages, and also to aim for more flexible hiring activities. When companies hire new candidates mid-career, however, year-round recruitment has already become the norm.
