Shinsostu saiyou: New graduate recruitment

Many Japanese companies have a unique system of hiring new employees direct from undergraduate and graduate schools. This is called “Shinsotsu saiyou”, or new graduate recruitment. In recruiting new graduates, Japanese firms prioritize individual potential and motivation over skills and experience. In most cases, new employees are assigned to their actual position after they have already joined the company, although more recently, some companies have started to recruit new graduates by position types too.
