たたき台(たたきだい; tatakidai) is an outline that is created before crafting an official written proposal. It summarizes key points and information that should be considered before writing the proposal. In other words, proposals are based on tatakidai. Tatakidai in English is “draft.”
In a tatakidai, one clarifies the proposal’s concept and purpose and identifies information to be considered. Tatakidai are created to be revised upon and thus are usually made quickly.
