On July 19, the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare announced the October and November dates for the Specific Skilled Worker exam for the nursing field. This is part of the process for the new Specific Skills Workers visa for accepting new foreign workers. The exam is slated to be held in the Philippines, Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, and Mongolia.
In the Philippines, the exam will be held in Manila, as well as Cebu and Davao. The exam dates are as follows: Manila from October 29 to November 14, Cebu on October 26 and 27, and from November 5 to 7, and Davao from November 12 to November 15. In Cambodia, the exam will be held in Phnom Penh, and the dates are from October 27 to 30. The exam in Nepal will be held in Kathmandu, and the dates are October 27 and 28, and November 5 and 6. In Myanmar the exam will be held in Yangon from October 30 to November 1, as well as from November 4 to 7. Finally, in Mongol, the exam will be held in Ulaanbaatar from November 14 to 17.
Applications for the exam are planned to start at the end of September. There will be an announcement at the beginning of September about the application process.
The Specific Skilled Worker exam for the nursing field was already held in the Philippines earlier this year. The first exam was on April 13 and 14, and the second was from May 25 to 27. The first exam was taken by 113 people, with 94 passing the Specific Skilled Worker exam and 97 passing the Japanese language exam. The second exam was taken by 336 people, with 140 passing the Specific Skilled Worker exam and 121 passing the Japanese language exam.
