Advising now available for foreign nursing-care workers in Chiba

On July 1, Chiba prefecture opened the Chiba Foreign Nursing-care Worker Support Center, located near JR Chiba Station. This facility provides work-related advising specific for foreign people who work or wish to work in nursing-care, including foreign students who hope to work in the field. This is the first center, specifically for foreign workers in nursing-care, established in the Kanto area, and the third in Japan following Gifu and Ehime prefectures.

At the center, support coordinators for foreign workers accept consultations by walk-in, telephone and email, and offsite visitations can also be arranged. The consultations by the support coordinators are available in English and Vietnamese besides Japanese. The center also provides mental health seminars and social events for foreign nursing-care workers and seminars for companies who have foreign employees.

The hours of the center are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Vietnamese-speaking coordinators are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. English-speaking coordinators are available for consultations on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
