LINE launched a new office in Kyoto and look for international engineers and interns

On June 13, LINE Corporation, known as LINE, Japan’s largest provider of the online communication platform, has opened a new development base in Kyoto City. It is the third domestic development base after Tokyo and Fukuoka.

LINE has actively researched and developed its services through the use of state-of-the-art technologies, including blockchain and AI. It has expanded its business overseas by providing services in South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

To accelerate their expansion, LINE works on seeking excellent foreign and local engineers and creating a place for people-to-people exchange at LINE KYOTO by taking advantage of the brand power of Kyoto.

In addition to developing its communication application and related services, “LINE KYOTO” actively recruits Japanese and international engineers who are in charge of conducting research and development which includes positions such as AI Assistant “Clova” amongest others. To achieve this end, it aims to grow to a scale of 100 people in the medium term.

Moreover, it will hold public events and provide opportunities for short-term and long-term interns for students in the Kansai area across Kyoto as a forum for technical exchanges.
