The test evaluates the eligibility of workers who wish to work in the accommodation industry in Japan. The test is divided into 5 fields, all of which cover important skills and knowledge for the accommodation industry: reception-related matters, service-related matters, restaurant and food service, PR and planning, sanitation and other basic matters. The format of the test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions and a practical skill exam, in which candidates can choose one out of the five categories stated above.

Candidates must hold at least Japanese Language Proficiency Test N4 to apply for the test, and the second exam is scheduled for October this year.
